Neely Mercurio,
Licensed Acupuncturist

After 35 years in healthcare, I continue to be honored helping my patients achieve good health and a better quality of life. I began my career as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in the Intensive Care Units of two of Boston’s finest teaching hospitals, Boston Children’s Hospital and Boston University Medical Center (now Boston Medical Center). Fourteen years later working exclusively as a Respiratory Therapist, I entered into the New England School of Acupuncture and graduated three years later with a Masters in Acupuncture. For the past 19 years, my time has been spent treating patients in both capacities as either their Acupuncturist or their Respiratory Therapist. Welcome Acupuncture is my practice where all my patients can benefit from my dual training in Eastern Medicine and Western Medicine. My education and experience allows me to speak the language of both fields of Medicine. Now working exclusively as an Acupuncturist I treat my patients from the heart, I am compassionate and thorough. I trust my instincts, I know how to treat, when to treat, when to comfort, and when to ask for additional help from another specialty services.

Catherine Thibault,
Licensed Acupuncturist

Ever since I was introduced to the concepts of Chinese Medicine and Qi in the 90’s, I have been passionate about learning more about it. This journey started at the Boston Shiatsu School where I developed a powerful understanding of Qi as an energy that activates physiological systems in our body and fuels ecological systems on our planet. Going beyond using finger pressure Shiatsu to work with Qi, I went on to learn how to promote healing  by impacting Qi with needles according to Traditional Chinese Medicine at the New England School of Acupuncture. During this time I also studied Shinkiko and Hari Japanese Acupuncture with Koe Kuwahara. Upon graduating, I  became a Licensed Acupuncturist and NCCAOM Board Certified in 2001. Today in addition to seeing patients in my practice, I am an adjunct faculty and a clinic supervisor at MCPHS/New England School of Acupuncture since 2013. I practice Chinese Acupuncture and Japanese Acupuncture, non-insertive acupuncture style (Toyo-Hari/Hari) and Shiatsu. I attend to all patients with compassion and respect. I hold the belief that kindness toward oneself and others opens doors to healing. I am a native of France and enjoy the arts, travel and the outdoors.

Testimonials about Neely Mercurio

“I arrived at the door of Neely Mercurio's office many years ago with numbness and pain in my legs, a history of depression and anxiety, severe hot flashes, bowel problems and an inability to sleep through the night. I was 48 years old and felt like I was 80... Once she started treating me with needles, she always explained what she was doing before she did it and spent time educating me about acupuncture. The fact that she was knowledgeable in both Western and Eastern medicine allowed her to discuss my illness while also helping me understand how acupuncture was helping me... I have been seeing Neely for almost 5 years now and I know for certain that her gift as an acupuncturist has changed my life. I was able to avoid surgery on my legs, my hot flushes and menopause symptoms are gone, I manage my anxiety and depression without medication by coming for acupuncture. I am in much better health than I have ever been. She is a gifted medical provider.”

“Trying to conceive was very stressful and difficult for me as I experienced many side effects to the infertility treatments I was receiving. I was not sure I would ever get pregnant. Neely was very knowledgeable about what I was going through and was able to explain procedures and medications when my doctor couldn't. With her help and her acupuncture treatments I was able to get pregnant. I highly recommend her services.”
